LIGHT Initiative

View Point Health has been awarded a contract by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to provide advocacy and support for individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

The Listening, Inspiring, Guiding Health Transitions (LIGHT) initiative is designed to assist youth and young adults who exhibit behavioral challenges that could accompany a first episode of psychosis. Behaviors such as significant increase in substance use, legal involvement, suicidal ideations or threats to others, marked decline in academic performance, and marked decline in social engagements and interactions.

Referrals to the LIGHT program will be accepted when youth and young adults have psychiatric hospital admissions, Emergency Department visits related to behavioral health, risk for homelessness, and evidence of psychosis.

Peer Specialists, Transition Coach/Case Management, Family Support Partners will provide support and advocacy to engage youth and young adults and link to supportive services.
